Tranquillité Gin got its name from the old tale of Marie "Tranquillité" Descoteaux and was also the inspiration for the recipe of Tranquillité Gin. This resulted in a unique and feminine gin.
Marie's parents died when she was very young, so she moved in with her uncle in Paris, where the family owned a small hotel and bar. As she got older, she started delivering small packages for her uncle, and soon realized it was gin she was delivering. She became a well-known figure in the arts and theater community and soon became synonymous with her uncle's gin. After her first taste, she helped her uncle refine the gin into a more feminine and sophisticated gin by adding fresh tarragon, coriander, blueberry, licorice, nutmeg and lavender to the recipe.
