The story of the Serrallés family began on the Hacienda Mercedita sugar plantation near the city of Ponce on the southern coast of Puerto Rico. In 1865, the son of Spanish immigrants, Don Juan Serrallés, produced the first few barrels of rum here in a copper still imported from France. However, Serrallés did not introduce the Don Q brand until 1934, shortly after the end of American Prohibition.

Don Q Double Aged Cask Zinfandel Finish is a blend of rums distilled on single and multi-column stills. They are then aged for 5-8 years in American white oak barrels before being moved to California Zinfandel barrels for another 3 years. The rum was created in a limited quantity, only 2196 bottles will reach the European market.
