Centenario 30Y uses pure mountain water and is aged in American white oak barrels that were once used for Scotch whisky. This unique process of aging "in the wild" around rivers, provides the ideal balance of freshness and moisture that makes this rum truly unique.
The aging system was inspired by the famous Solera system, where rums of different ages are cascaded in a system of casks arranged in multiple levels. This continuous aging process lends Centenario 30Y a depth and complexity rarely seen. A master blender extracts only 25% of the liquid from the lowest level, known as the Solera, ensuring that each bottle contains the essence of the most mature rum.
