Faustino I Gran Reserva is a Spanish wine with controlled designation of origin (DOCa) Rioja. It is made from a classic Rioja blend of Tempranillo (86%), Graciano (9%) and Mazuelo (5%) grapes from vineyards with an average age of over 30 years.
This wine is aged for 28 months in American oak barrels, then bottled and further aged in bottle for at least another 3 years before being released to the market. The total ageing period is therefore at least 5 years, which gives this wine its characteristic depth and complexity.
Faustino I Gran Reserva is dark garnet in colour with brown highlights on the edges. On the nose there are aromas of ripe red berries, spices, tobacco and vanilla from the oak barrel. On the tongue, the wine is full-bodied, with fine tannins and delicate tannins. Its long and elegant aftertaste makes this wine an excellent accompaniment to roast meats, cheeses and delicate desserts.
Faustino I Gran Reserva is a high quality wine with excellent ageing ability, ideal for those looking for a quality wine with a distinctive character.
