About the Meukow brand:
The story of the Meukow brand is one of passion, tradition, and a constant quest for perfection. It began in 1862, when brothers Auguste-Christophe and Gustav Meukow from Silesia founded their own eaux-de-vie trading house in the town of Cognac. What began as a focused business venture soon turned into a family legacy that now spans more than 160 years of history.
Meukow cognacs are made from carefully selected eaux-de-vie from all six crus of the Cognac region, including Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois. After double distillation, the wines are aged in oak barrels, often for decades in cellars where the famous Part des Anges, or angel's share, is created.
The quality is supervised by Anne Sarteaux, cellar master and one of the few women in the world of cognac. In 1993, the iconic Félin bottle with a black panther design was created. This motif, which now adorns every Meukow bottle, is not just an aesthetic element – it is a symbol of what the brand represents: strength, elegance, and finesse.
