The Ramazzotti story:

In 1815, at a time of political instability and popular uprisings in Milan, a unique blend was created on the initiative of Ausano Ramazzotti, a young entrepreneur and herbalist. In a small laboratory, he experimented with ingredients from all over the world, including Italian sweet orange peel, gentian, rhubarb, turmeric and rosemary. His goal was to create a drink that could be enjoyed at any time of the day. The result was Amaro Ramazzotti, a harmonious blend of 33 spices, herbs, flowers and fruits, the recipe of which is still kept secret today.

Thirty-three years later, in 1848, Ausano opened his first bar on Santa Margherita Street, a short walk from Milan's iconic cathedral. It was an important meeting place for the nobility. The Amaro Ramazzotti quickly became a favourite drink in Milan, ideal to drink with coffee, as an aperitif or digestif, and symbolised the new Italian lifestyle.

In 1985, Ramazzotti opened a new chapter through the "Milano da bere" television campaign. The slogan, which presents Milan as a dynamic and optimistic city, became part of the language of the times. Ramazzotti celebrated success in 2009 with 10 million litres sold, making the brand the first Italian bitters to be exported worldwide.

In 2015, Ramazzotti celebrated its 200th anniversary and continues to maintain its place as a major player in the alcoholic beverage market.
