Ratu Spiced 5Y is a highly regarded Fijian rum that offers a rich and complex flavour, accentuated by traditional ageing and exotic spiciness. Its complex profile and production methods make it an exceptional representative of Fijian rums.

Production and ageing:

Ratu Spiced 5Y is aged for a minimum of five years in charred American oak barrels formerly used for bourbon. This ageing process gives the rum its characteristic charred oak undertones.

After the main maturation, the rum is finished with mocha oak chips, which adds another layer of aromatic complexity and intensifies its rich notes.

Tasting Profile:

Nose: Charred oak dominates the aroma, combined with fresh citrus notes that bring a fresh element to an otherwise warm and spicy composition.

Flavour: Rich notes of vanilla and candied orange develop on the palate, complemented by warm cinnamon and star anise. This combination creates a deep yet subtly spicy flavour that is long remembered.
