History and production:

The history of Europe's oldest distillery, the Green Tree Distillery, began on July 4, 1518, when William of Pernštejn and Helfštejn granted the right of distillation to the landowner Jez of Seloutek in Prostějov. Since then, the distillery has specialised in the production of rye distillate, with purely Czech origins and continuity in the hands of Czech owners for more than 500 years.

Over the centuries, the distillery has been influenced by many important people, such as Luis Eckelmann, who was instrumental in spreading and popularizing the Old Rye Hunting, and Jakub Vojáček, a pioneer in the field of distilling rye spirits in Prostějov.

Raw materials and production:

• Rye distillate: The basis of the Old Rye Hunting Rye is carefully selected rye, which gives this traditional drink its characteristic taste. 
• Oak barrels: American white oak barrels are used for aging, which gives the spirit less woody flavors and more smoothness and fruity notes.
• Aging process: As the spirit ages in oak barrels, it gains smoothness and harmony, making the tangy finish softer and more enjoyable.

The recipe of Stará žitná myslivecká is guarded as a careful secret known only to a select few, including master blender Roman Petrus. Every day there is an emphasis on quality control and adherence to traditional production methods.
