GlenAllachie 12Y Moscatel is an example of the innovative work of Master Distiller Billy Walker, whose passion for cask management has brought a new dimension to whisky. This special edition, produced exclusively for the European market, is first matured for over 8 years in American oak bourbon casks before being transferred to selected Moscatel casks for over 42 months. This ageing method gives the whisky the unique floral and fruity notes that are characteristic of Moscatel - an aromatic dessert wine from Portugal.

Tasting Profile:

Colour: Golden bronze.  

Nose: Complex aromas of orange blossom, heather honey and citrus with notes of grapefruit, butterscotch and caramel.

Taste: Rich flavours of dark chocolate and grape must are complemented by plum jam followed by fruity notes of orchard, cinnamon and honeycomb. The finale is garnished with ginger and butterscotch.

Alcohol content: 48 %.  
Volume: 700 ml.  
Age: 12 years.  
Region: Speyside, Scotland.  
Ageing: American oak bourbon barrels, finished in Moscatel barrels.  
Filtration: Bottled without chill filtration.
