It is bottled at 69% ABV, significantly above the standard, in the true spirit of the traditional naval rum tradition.
Production:
Alexandre Gabriel collaborated on its development with a group of experienced rum connoisseurs who sought the ideal form of a strong dark rum. The result is a blend that combines the character of three distinctive rum-producing regions: Barbados (West Indies Rum Distillery), Jamaica (Long Pond Distillery), and Guyana (Demerara Distillers Ltd.). It is made from molasses, with varying fermentation times depending on origin, and a combination of column and pot still distillation—including the iconic Port Mourant pot still.
Planteray O.F.T.D. is a rum with a rich and robust profile, created primarily for cocktails where it truly shines. The abbreviation O.F.T.D. officially stands for Old Fashioned Traditional Dark, but among “rum enthusiasts,” it carries a much more legendary interpretation.

Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain gently into an old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with half a lime peel, a sprig of mint, and a fruit stick featuring pineapple and a Luxardo Maraschino cherry.
