Product description

Chivas Regal Mizunara is the world's first blended Scotch whisky to be selectively finished in Japanese Mizunara oak casks, giving it unmistakable character and depth. This innovation includes a blend of classic Chivas whiskies that has been given subtle floral and spicy notes from rare Japanese oak.

Production process:

Selective finishing in Mizunara oak casks, a wood known for its porosity and ability to provide intense aromatic nuances, adds to the whisky's complexity and richness. Master Blender Sandy Hyslop has personally visited Japan to ensure that the cask is made to exact specifications, guaranteeing the quality and uniqueness of each bottle.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Rich and fruity, with hints of pear and orange that bring a fresh yet complex aroma.

Taste: Smooth and rich, with notes of honey and hazelnuts that transition into the subtle floral nuances typical of Japanese whiskies.

Finish: Bold and spicy, with a lingering aftertaste that lingers on the tongue.

Appreciation:

Chivas Regal Mizunara was awarded a gold medal at the 2018 and 2020 International Wine and Spirits Competition and a silver medal in 2020, demonstrating its outstanding quality and recognition in the world of spirits.

Serving:

Chivas Regal Mizunara is best served in a highball where its complex flavours can be fully developed. To make the ideal Mizunara M&C Highball or Maya Bay cocktail, use quality soda water, ice and lemon to bring out the whisky's unique flavours.

Chivas Regal Mizunara is an exceptional Scotch whisky that beautifully bridges the Scottish and Japanese distilling arts. It's a great choice for those looking for something special and want to experience how traditional Scotch whisky can take on a new dimension thanks to Japanese craftsmanship.

About the Chivas Brothers brand:

Chivas Brothers Limited is one of the most famous names in the world of Scotch whisky, with a history dating back to 1801. The brand, which is now synonymous with luxury blended whisky, was born in the heart of Scotland – in the city of Aberdeen, where brothers James and John Chivas laid the foundations for a unique whisky philosophy that combines elegance, smoothness, and an emphasis on quality.

Originally successful merchants of food and luxury goods, the Chivas brothers began creating their own whisky blends in the 19th century to satisfy demanding customers, including the royal court. At a time when single malt whiskeys were often harsh and unpredictable, the Chivas brothers sought smoothness and balance. Their innovative approach to blending whiskey laid the foundation for one of the most famous products in the world of whiskey.

In 1909, the legendary Chivas Regal, the world's first luxury 25-year-old blended whisky, was created. This step made the brand a global symbol of elegance and prestige. Today, Chivas Regal offers a wide portfolio of whiskies ranging from 12 to 25 years old and exclusive editions that are popular with both connoisseurs and those looking for an exceptional gift.

Chivas Brothers is now part of the Pernod Ricard group and, in addition to the Chivas Regal brand, also manages other famous names such as The Glenlivet, Royal Salute, and Ballantine's. The brand's distilleries are among the most respected in Scotland, and their spirits are celebrated around the world.
