Aberlour 12Y Double Cask is a superb amber Scotch whisky with a hint of ruby that perfectly demonstrates how citrus notes can harmoniously blend with the flavours derived from double maturation. The use of both traditional oak and sherry casks has a significant impact on the final flavour, with the subtle nuances of the spirit blending together to create a perfectly balanced flavour profile.
NOSE: Smooth and rounded with fruity notes of red apple.
TASTE: Smooth, fruity and balanced by rich chocolate
FINISH: Warm and lingering, sweet and spicy
The original distillery was established in 1826 in the village of Aberlour in Banffshire. It was replaced in 1879 by a new distillery founded by James Fleming. The name Aberlour in Gaelic means the mouth of a bubbling brook, which is depicted on the labels. The distillery has been rebuilt several times.
