Product description

Ballantine's 15Y Single Malt Miltonduff is a key pillar of Ballantine's whisky's character, adding warmth, depth, and subtle strength. This elegant single malt whisky is distinctly floral, with a light spicy touch of cinnamon that underscores its natural nobility. The overall expression is exceptionally smooth, with a subtle sweetness of licorice and a long, pleasantly warm finish.

Characteristics:

Miltonduff comes from a distillery whose spirits form the heart of Ballantine's blends, and it is in this 15-year-old single malt form that its authentic character shines through in full force. The whisky is balanced, smooth and yet distinctive enough to appeal to experienced Scotch lovers.

The creation of this range is linked to the name of Sandy Hyslop, Ballantine's fifth Master Blender, who, together with his team, created the very first series of Ballantine's Single Malt whiskies. The series pays tribute to a tradition dating back to 1827, but at the same time shows the courage to innovate and offer connoisseurs and collectors a new perspective on the brand's classic spirits.

Tasting profile:

Aroma: Floral notes, delicate cinnamon spice.

Taste: Extremely smooth, light sweetness of licorice.

Finish: Long, warm, and elegant.

Ballantine's 15Y Single Malt Miltonduff is the ideal choice for those looking for a sophisticated single malt whiskey with the smoothness, depth, and distinctive signature of one of Scotland's most respected brands.

Ballantine's history:

Ballantine's, a Scottish whisky brand, was founded in 1827 by George Ballantine, originally a greengrocer. George opened his first grocery store in Edinburgh and gradually specialised in maturing quality, hand-selected malt whiskies. In 1857 he expanded his store to meet the growing demand for his products and in 1881 began exporting his blended whisky to world markets.

After his retirement, his sons took over the business. Ballantine's was awarded a Quality Recognition from Queen Victoria in 1895, a significant milestone, and over the years the company continued to innovate, including the launch of Ballantine's Finest in 1910 and the development of the iconic square bottle during Prohibition for easier concealment.

In 1937, master blender George Robertson joined the team to create the world's first 17-year-old Scotch whisky and the prestigious Ballantine's 30. The company acquired a heraldic emblem in 1938, which includes the Latin phrase "Amicus Humani Generis" (Friend of all mankind).

Ballantine's continues to celebrate its history and continues to innovate, as evidenced by its 2014 partnership with the Boiler Room Music Project to promote real music and whiskey.
