Product description

There is only one road on the island of Jura – a long, winding road that winds through wild countryside to the Isle of Jura Distillery on the southeastern tip of the island. It is this road that inspired the Isle of Jura The Road whisky, which symbolizes the connection between community, tradition, and perseverance.

Maturation:

  • First in bourbon barrels
  • Finished in 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels
  • Alcohol content: 43.6%
  • One-liter bottle in a gift box

The combination of American oak and sweet PX sherry gives this whisky a distinctive depth, spiciness, and velvety sweet character.

Tasting profile:

Color: Autumn gold.

Aroma: Dried apricots, molasses, bergamot, and roasted pistachios.

Taste: Rich ground coffee, molasses, and cinnamon.

Finish: Warm, spicy, and slightly sweet.

Isle of Jura The Road is a full-bodied, sweetly spiced single malt with distinctive notes of dried fruit and coffee. Thanks to its gift packaging and 1-liter volume, it is ideal as a representative gift or as a distinctive addition to the home collection of a lover of sherry-finished whiskeys.

About the Jura distillery:

Isle of Jura Distillery was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell on the remote island of Jura and has been inextricably linked with the rugged nature and isolated character of this place since its inception. After obtaining an official license in 1831 and undergoing significant modernization in the 19th century, the distillery went through a period of closure before reopening in 1963 and breathing new life into the local community. The pure island water sourced from The Paps mountain range and the exceptionally tall stills play a key role in the character of Jura whisky, promoting the creation of a smooth, fruity, and aromatic distillate. Since its acquisition by Whyte & Mackay in 1994, Jura has established itself as an accessible island single malt whisky. In recent years, the brand has undergone significant modernization and in 2023 became the best-selling single malt whisky in the UK.
