Product description

Metaxa 7 Stars is a perfectly balanced blend of muscat wines from the island of Samos, fine wine distillates, and Mediterranean herbs, which together create a characteristic sweetness, depth, and harmony. Compared to other Metaxa variants, 7 Stars contains the highest proportion of muscat wine, making it fuller, fruitier, and significantly smoother.

Tasting profile:

Color: Warm amber with copper highlights.

Aroma: Ripe peach, dried plum and delicate floral notes, complemented by hints of honey and dried herbs.

Taste: Sweetly fruity and balanced, with notes of toffee, ripe fruit, and light spice. The exceptionally smooth texture and elegant sweetness of muscat wine leave a rich impression.

Finish: Long, warm, and fruity, with hints of dried fruit and honey caramel.

Serving:

Metaxa 7 Stars is ideal for celebrations and quiet evenings alike – it stands out neat, on ice or as a base for refreshing cocktails.

Drink tip: Greek Spritz

  • 4 cl Metaxa 7 Stars
  • 4 cl prosecco or other sparkling wine
  • 2 cl tonic
  • 3 drops of peach bitters or juice
  • Garnish with a slice of peach.

Origin and tradition:

The history of the Metaxa brand dates back to 1888, when Spyros Metaxa created a spirit that combined the strength of brandy with the delicacy of wine and the aroma of herbs – thus the first "Greek amber" was born.

Since then, Metaxa has proudly borne its name and remains a symbol of the Greek spirit, hospitality, and passion for life.

The family legacy was preserved by Despina Metaxa, who continued the tradition and development of the brand after the founder's death. Her work was continued by her sons, especially Andreas Metaxa, who created the legendary Metaxa Grande Fine style.

In modern times, the brand's development has been credited to master blenders Konstantinos Raptis (active until 2024) and the current Konstantinos Kalpaxidis, who created a new variation, Metaxa 5 Stars Greek Orange, in 2022.
