Product description

Amaretto Venice is an Italian fruit liqueur of bitter-sweet flavor and almond aroma.

This liqueur is made of almonds, apricot seeds, herbs, vanilla, and spices. The oldest original Amaretto belongs to the brand Di Saronno.

The almond liqueur Amaretto is served neat, or on the rocks. Very often the drink is a part of various mixed drinks – like Godfather, Godmother or French Connection cocktails. It is also part of one of the variations of the popular B52 cocktail, specifically of the B54 variation. But how do you want to savor your drink, it’s up to you.

Amaretto is the liqueur originally from Italy. But legends cloak its true history. According to one of these legends Amaretto was made this way. In 1525 an artist called Bernardino Luini got a contract for decoration of a church in a town called Saronno. A local young and widowed lady innkeeper became his model for portrait of Madonna. According to the legend she became his lover too. She wanted to prove her affection to the artist, so the lady innkeeper gave him a present – brandy, which she had macerated the apricot seeds in. The lady innkeeper couldn’t afford anything wealthier. And so supposedly the first liqueur Amaretto was made. But who was the first true maker of this liqueur, we may never find out.

The alcohol content is 18 %.
