Product description

Dictador Jerarquía Pardo 1982 is a rare Colombian vintage rum from an exceptional family collection of old barrels, which the Parra family has cared for over generations. The Jerarquía collection features carefully selected rums with a unique flavor profile, long aging, and very limited availability.

Production:

The rum comes from a distillery in the heart of Colombia that is now closed, which adds to its mystique and collector’s value. The name Jerarquía, meaning “hierarchy,” refers to the exceptional status of these barrels in the family collection and the patience with which they were preserved.

The rums from the Jerarquía collection were aged in selected American oak barrels and in sherry or port wine casks. The Pardo 1982 edition offers a rich and layered profile that blends sweet spices, strawberries, honey, leather, citrus, and tropical fruit.

Tasting Profile:

Nose: Gingerbread, nutmeg, and cinnamon complemented by strawberry notes, rose water, and a subtle hint of ginger beer.

Palate: Creamy and layered, with lime zest, rich honey, leather, earthy notes, red grapes, and orange.

Finish: Orange cream, vanilla, and juicy tropical fruit.

The aroma unfolds with notes of gingerbread, nutmeg, and cinnamon, complemented by a sweet strawberry note, rose water, and a light hint of ginger beer.

The taste is creamy and full-bodied. The initial note of lime zest transitions into rich honey, leather, and earthier layers. Red grapes and subtle orange notes emerge next.

Recommended serving:

Neat at room temperature, or with a few drops of water.

Dictador Jerarquía Pardo 1982 is an exceptional rum for experienced tasters and collectors. It offers a rare origin from a closed Colombian distillery and a rich combination of gingerbread, spices, honey, citrus, grapes, vanilla, and tropical fruit.

About the Dictador brand:

Dictador was born in Colombia, a country famous not only for its coffee but also for its ideal climate for rum maturation. The result is a rum that appeals to collectors, lovers of rare editions, and lovers of sophisticated flavors.

The Dictador brand draws inspiration from Sever Arangoy, nicknamed "El Dictador," a Spanish official who oversaw the rum trade in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial center of the Spanish colonial empire in the 18th century. The brand is named after him, and this is where the story of Dictador as a rum with authority began.

The modern era of Dictador began in 1913, when the family business of the same name was officially founded. Since then, Dictador rum has been produced with an emphasis on precision, craftsmanship, and long aging, now led by renowned master blender Hernan Parra, who is the third generation of the Parra rum family.
