To showcase the breadth of their portfolio, back in 2001, they introduced a series called Special Releases – which has become one of the hotly awaited yearly events on the whisky scene every autumn. Twenty years later, the company decided to raise the game, and arrived with the Prima & Ultima series to showcase their very best cask across their vast distillery landscape. |

Prima: |
Auchroisk – the very first cask filled at the distillery in 1974 |
Lagavulin – first experimental batch completely matured on Islay |
Linkwood – first trial with different maturation processes at the distillery |
The Singleton of Glendullan – first attempt with second maturation in Madeira barriques |
Ultima: |
Brora – very last of distillery’s casks before closure in 1983 |
Convalmore – casks just before the distillery was closed in 1985 |
Mortlach – liquid used for the famous F&F 16yo, matured to amazing 25 years |
Talisker – last four casks from 1979 at this Skye’s coastal distillery |
The full set is accompanied by eight unique glasses, individual 20ml samples and a booklet of personal stories told by master blender Maureen Robinson. |
