The whiskeys from this distillery have a fruity taste with an explosive finish. It is one of the best-selling single malt whiskeys in the world. Part of the production is used in the best blended whiskies.
The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve is a new single malt Scotch whiskey in The Glenlivet's product portfolio, responding to the growing demand for new single malts and in terms of portfolio we can rank it on a par with The Glenlivet 12. This whiskey is a tribute to the founder, to George Smith, who started the tradition of producing The Glenlivet whiskey with a typical fruity taste in 1824. Its uniqueness is given by the fact that a certain part of it matures in so-called first fill American white oak barrels, which are sometimes referred to as virgin oak, i.e. .a cask that no other whiskey has been aged in. This aging gives the final product a delicate, fruity, creamy profile with notes of orange peel and pear. Alcohol content 40%.
Palate: Fruit creamy profile with notes of orange peel and pear.
Aroma: Malt, orange peel and a hint of vanilla.
Color: Straw Gold.
Part of the whiskey is aged in first fill American white oak casks, in which Scotch whiskey has not yet matured.
The Glenlivet Founder's Reseve is best enjoyed, like most other single malt whiskies, in its pure form or with a drop of water or on ice.
