On 7 Oktober 2022, A.H. Riise Spirits will be introducing a new Limited Edition 43.4% blend to their award-winning Non Plus Ultra series. Non Plus Ultra La Galante takes its name from Santa Maria La Galante – the flagship of Columbus when he discovered the West Indies and the lush island of St. Croix, where conditions were perfect for the cultivation of sugarcane. The bottle is also a tribute to one of A.H. Riise’s first trademarks – ‘Old St. Croix’ – used alongside his signature on his bottles 150 years ago. That is precisely why ‘Old St. Croix’ is featured on top of the La Galante decanter.
This exclusive, Limited Edition blend is made by our master distiller with the very best drops from West India and Central America. Each oak cask is carefully selected to create a blend that captures the essence of theWest Indies and the flora on the islands. The mahogany-coloured drops look beautifully enticing in the facet-cut decanter, promising a unique taste sensation.
“Each edition of La Galante is created from very small batches of less than 2000 decanters per batch. Each cask and each bottle is numbered. This is a unique opportunity for collectors to acquire an exceptional decanter. The number of decanters varies from batch to batch. Only the best is good enough. Although our aim is for each blend to resemble the previous one to the greatest extent possible, each batch will have its own soul,” explains Michael Bielefeldt, CEO of A.H. Riise Spirits.
Color: Dark red mahogany
Nose: An inciting scent of orange, caramel, crème brulé and vanilla with notes of mahogany and the aromatic Bay Rum wood that grows wild in the West Indies.
Taste: Complex, full-bodied and smooth spicy taste with a touch of orange, creamy vanilla and lemon with notes from oak casks of the finest quality.
