McConnell's 5 Year Old Cognac Cask Finish is a premium Irish blended whiskey that combines traditional Irish craftsmanship with the elegance of French cognac. This blend of carefully selected malt and grain whiskeys is aged for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels and then finished in hand-selected cognac barrels. The result is an exceptionally smooth, rich, and complex whiskey with fruity, floral, and spicy notes. It is bottled at 46% ABV without cold filtration, allowing it to retain its full character.

Tasting Profile:

Color: Golden amber.

Aroma: Steeped orange peel, ripe banana, and delicate vanilla.

Taste: Candied lemons, powdered sugar, flambéed raisins, light chocolate, and dried pineapple.

Finish: Long, warm, and spicy with pronounced notes of ginger.

Final maturation in cognac casks gives the whiskey a unique flavor profile that is relatively rare among Irish whiskeys. French oak and traces of fine cognac lend the spirit a delicate floral elegance, rich fruitiness, and a pleasantly long, spicy finish.

The casks are personally selected by Master Distiller Graeme Millar, who ensures a perfect harmony between the bourbon and cognac characters.
