Dictador Libreto Sherry 1998 is another highlight of Colombian rum artistry, personally selected by Hernan Parra, master blender and heir to the Parra family tradition. This limited and precisely composed series presents a taste libretto in which each ingredient plays its part, creating a harmonious and deeply complex composition.
Aging:
Aging in American oak barrels and subsequent finishing in sherry casks give the rum a layered flavor profile with luxurious fruitiness, woodiness, and spice, typical of the winemaking influence of these casks.
Tasting profile:
Aroma: Pleasantly warm and sweetly roasted – freshly ground coffee, toasted malt bread with raspberry jam, hints of rhubarb and cardamom.
Taste: Rich and elegant – delicate notes of coffee, complemented by ginger syrup, black licorice, vanilla, and oak spice. Red berries also come to the fore.
Finish: Long and velvety, with dominant notes of red fruit and licorice.
This limited edition is ideal for discerning collectors and lovers of sophisticated rums.
About the Dictador brand:
Dictador was born in Colombia, a country famous not only for its coffee but also for its ideal climate for aging rum. The result is a rum that appeals to collectors, lovers of rare editions, and connoisseurs of sophisticated flavors.
The Dictador brand draws inspiration from Sever Arangoya, nicknamed "El Dictador," a Spanish official who oversaw the rum trade in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial center of the Spanish colonial empire in the 18th century. It is after him that the brand is named, and it is here that the story of Dictador as a rum with authority began.
The modern era of Dictador began in 1913, when the family business of the same name was officially founded. Since then, Dictador rum has been produced with an emphasis on precision, craftsmanship, and long aging, now led by renowned master blender Hernan Parra, who is the third generation of the Parra rum family.
