Product description

Glenmorangie The Caboll Estate 15yo is the latest addition to the successful The Cadboll Estate range, through which the Glenmorangie distillery brings the character of its beloved Highland home to life. This third batch, crafted at Glenmorangie from cob to glass, is deep and creamy, with notes of sweet spice and nuts.

Dr Bill Lumsden chose Amontillado sherry casks to age the whisky. He is particularly attracted to these for the intense nuttiness and spiciness of the resulting sherry, which he sees as the perfect expression of the terroir of Jerez.

The barley for this bottling comes from two Cadboll harvests. One part of this batch was matured in bourbon barrels, adding richness and creaminess, and the other part was matured in special Amontillado barrels for approximately one year, giving it nutty, spicy and sweet notes.

Colour: Dark ochre
Nose: A touch of honey, hazelnut, tangerine and sweet milk caramel. Notes of ripe barley and roasted peaches are added. The addition of a few drops of water releases a subtle minerality, accompanied by honeycomb and jasmine flowers.
Mouth: a subtle initial spiciness on the palate leads to an explosion of sweet and spicy notes - heather honey, gingerbread, hazelnut praline, fudge and a touch of clove. The nuttiness of the Amontillado barrels is present but beautifully integrated into the other, sweet notes. The silky finish brings hints of marzipan, coconut and biscuit.
