R.Jelínek Vizovice Plum GABROVSKÁ 2014 is an exceptional slivovice that combines traditional production art with innovative aging techniques. This exclusive edition of the Gabrovská variety was distilled in 2014 and subjected to an innovative aging process that combines the best of both worlds - a stainless steel tank and a Foursquare oak rum barrel from Barbados.
After distillation, Vizovice Plum GABROVSKÁ 2014 was placed in a stainless steel tank where it was regularly aerated and vented to ensure optimal aging even without traditional wood. The final eight months of aging in a Foursquare oak rum barrel gave this slivovitz its unique character. The oak wood melds nicely with the vanilla notes and light hints of rum, giving this plum brandy unprecedented depth and complexity.
The aroma is dominated by ripe plums, complemented by hints of vanilla and rum, while the palate opens up to a fullness of oak with a hint of prunes.
In 2003, the orchard tradition was renewed by planting its own plum orchards on the southern slopes of the Vizovice valley in the Těchlov region, and in 2008 the first harvest of Vizovice plums took place, ushering in a new era of plum brandy production.
