Bruichladdich Octomore 14.3 is a unique, pure golden whisky from the Islay distillery that harmoniously combines distinctly peaty notes with locally grown barley that grows just two miles from the distillery on Octomore Farm. This single malt whisky boasts a deep connection to the natural resources of the island and the renaissance of the farming community behind its production.
Head Distiller Adam Hannett has carefully fine-tuned this exceptional whiskey, aged first in American whiskey barrels and European second-fill wine casks, bringing out the authentic flavor of the barley without overpowering the wood.
Harvested: 2016 and Distilled: 2017
Tasting profile:
The story of this whisky is underscored by the 100% Islay barley from Octomore Farm, super strong peatiness and five years of maturation.
NOSE: A hot mash complemented by biscuit and peat nuances that combine with a rich fruit bouquet and touches of vanilla and honey.
TASTE: Soft oak notes with rich fruit and sweet barley.
FINISH: Intensely malty with hints of peat smoke, accompanied by lingering notes of barley sugar, caramel and vanilla for the ultimate sweetness.
About the Bruichladdich distillery:
Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 on the west coast of the island of Islay in Scotland. Unlike most of its island neighbors, Bruichladdich originally focused on unpeated single malt whisky – and it was this elegance and delicacy that soon earned it a reputation.
After several years of inactivity, the distillery reopened in 2001 with a clear vision: to produce authentic, bold, and fully traceable whisky from local ingredients. Today, Bruichladdich is known as one of Scotland's most progressive producers – the variety of barley, experiments with different types of casks, and extremely peaty series such as Octomore and Port Charlotte prove that the brand knows how to combine respect for tradition with the courage to innovate.
