Product description

Don Q Signature Release 9Y 2007 0,7L 40% is an elegant Puerto Rican rum, which embodies the devotion of the family Serrallés and precise craftmanship. In 2007 the selection from family’s stock of finest rums was stored in charred American oak barrels for nine years until bottling in 2016.

Rich, mahogany color with crimson gleams and slightly sweet smell with tones of oak wood, nuts, roasted almonds and spices, intensive nuances of caramel and sweet chocolate create its character. Its taste consists of sweetness of sugar cane and cacao complemented by taste of candied fruit for balanced experience with fine smooth finale with delicate aroma.

The story of Serrallés began in 1865 on sugar plantation Hacienda Mercedita near the city called Ponce on the southern coast of Puerto Rico. In this year Don Juan Serrallés, son of Spanish immigrants, produced first barrels of rum in copper still. Today the distillery Serrallés is well-known not only for producing high-quality Puerto Rican rums, but for the enthusiasm and time invested in the transformation of one of the most environmental responsible distilleries in the industry.

Serrallés introduced the brand Don Q in 1934, shortly after the end of prohibition. The brand is named after Don Quixote – same as Don Quixote represents searching for perfect world, Don Q represents the quest for the perfect rum. Today the Don Q is a premium export brand and the best-selling rum in Puerto Rico.
