Product description

Bowmore 18 YO 2001 The Little Big Book is an exceptional single malt whisky from Islay, bottled by Signatory Vintage exclusively for La Maison du Whisky. This independent bottling captivates not only with its origin and high alcohol content of 55.4%, but also with its distinctly unique flavor profile, which combines subtle peat, maritime notes, exotic fruit, and roasted accents. Thanks to 25 months of maturation in a sherry cask, the whisky has gained additional depth, complexity, and elegant layering.

This edition was bottled in a run of just 692 bottles, making it an attractive choice for collectors, lovers of independent bottlings, and anyone seeking a unique and complex Islay whisky.

Tasting Profile:

Nose: Sea mist, white fish, slightly medicinal notes, herbs, banana, mango, passion fruit, papaya, coffee, and toasted bread.

Taste: Smoked fish, coastal notes, coffee, exotic fruits, and aromatic herbs.

Finish: Fresh herbs, light peat, exotic fruits, and roasted notes.

The aroma is initially dominated by a distinct maritime atmosphere with notes of sea mist, white fish, and a slightly medicinal hint. Fresh herbal accents gradually emerge, lending lightness to the overall profile, while exotic fruits such as banana, mango, passion fruit, and papaya create an interesting contrast to the notes of coffee and toasted bread. The result is a rich and highly impressive aroma.

On the palate, the peaty character remains, centered around smoked fish and coastal notes, which harmoniously blend with coffee, exotic fruits, and later, aromatic herbs. The finish is carried by fresh herbs, which lighten the tasting experience, while the whisky’s main characteristics—light peat, exotic fruit, and roasted notes—remain intact until the very end.
