Product description

Karukera Réserve Spéciale is a mature agricole rum from Guadeloupe that embodies the authentic character of the Karukera brand. It is made from fresh sugarcane juice and aged in a tropical climate, where it develops richness, depth, and a distinctive aromatic profile.

Aging:

This rum is aged for at least 4 years in 350-liter French and American oak barrels. The tropical climate accelerates the aging process and helps develop a fuller, more complex flavor. The result is a rum with a rich aroma, a spicy opening, a fruity character, and a long, spicy finish.

Tasting Profile:

Aroma: Rich and distinctive. Spicy notes of cloves and pepper emerge first, gradually giving way to fruity aromas, particularly ripe banana.

Taste: Full-bodied, smooth, and distinctly fruity, with a mature character derived from aging in oak barrels.

Finish: Long, spicy, and warming.

Serving:

Karukera Réserve Spéciale is primarily intended to be enjoyed on its own. It shines best in a tasting glass, where its spicy, fruity, and woody notes can gradually unfold. Thanks to the combination of French and American oak, it offers a balanced profile with the smoothness, fullness, and typical liveliness of agricole rums.

It will be appreciated by rum lovers seeking a more authentic, drier, and more distinctive style than that of typical sweeter Caribbean rums.

About the Karukera Brand:

Karukera is a rum brand from Guadeloupe that focuses on producing rums with a distinct sugarcane character and authentic island origins. The name Karukera refers to the original name of Guadeloupe, often interpreted as “island of beautiful waters.” The brand is primarily associated with the agricole style, meaning rums produced from fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses.

Karukera rums are prized for their aromatic richness, vibrancy, and ability to blend a fresh cane base with a deeper profile gained through aging in oak barrels. The brand’s lineup includes both younger rums suitable for cocktails and aged and limited-edition releases intended for slow sipping.
