Albert Michler Dark Rum Jamaican is a dark Jamaican rum with a distinctive molasses character, a full-bodied flavor, and pleasant woody notes. It is crafted from a blend of rums sourced from the Jamaican distilleries Hampden and New Yarmouth, which are known for producing aromatic rums with a higher ester content.
Production:
The production process combines rums from continuous and pot still distillation. They are then aged in American and French oak barrels, which impart notes of vanilla, toasted wood, and mature oak. The rums were aged for approximately 1 to 5 years.
Tasting Profile:
Color: Mahogany.
Aroma: Vanilla and toasted wood.
Taste: Distinctive and full-bodied, with notes of molasses, grapes, and aged wood.
Finish: Well-balanced and long-lasting.
Albert Michler Dark Rum Jamaican offers a fuller and more aromatic profile typical of the Jamaican style. The aroma features vanilla and toasted wood, while the taste combines molasses, grapes, and aged oak. The finish is well-balanced and long-lasting.
Serving:
The rum can be served neat at room temperature or on the rocks. Thanks to its intense character, it is also excellent in tropical cocktails, Planter’s Punch, or mixed with cola or ginger ale. The gift packaging makes it a suitable gift for lovers of bold Caribbean rums.
Awards:
2016: silver medal, International Rum Conference Madrid
2017: bronze medal, Barcelona Rum Congress
2023: gold medal, Vienna R(h)um Award

About the Albert Michler brand:
The history of the Albert Michler brand dates back to 1863, when Albert Michler founded a factory for liqueurs, rums, and other spirits in Buchsdorf, in what was then Austrian Silesia. It became famous primarily for its herbal liqueur, Original Buchsdorfer Magenbitter, and later also for its selection and blending of overseas rums.
The original company became a supplier to the imperial and royal court as well as the Austro-Hungarian Navy. However, its operations were brought to an end by the consequences of World War II and the subsequent political changes in Central Europe.
The current company, Albert Michler Distillery Int. Ltd., operates in the United Kingdom and carries on the historic Silesian brand with respect for its legacy. It focuses primarily on rums from Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Dominican Republic, in addition to which it also offers gin, absinthe, and other spirits.
