SKUNK is a brand of Danish sustainably produced rum. Four different rums have been created under the brand, but they are united by the inspiration of Jamaica and the local rum-making processes. Each of the rums thus has unique characteristics. Hooded SKUNK Rum is the last product of the four.

The SKUNK Rum family is made up of experimental SKUNK Rum, where each batch will vary with respect to the use of different fermentation types and distillation methods. The other rums are Spotted SKUNK Rum and Striped SKUNK Rum, whose production processes and resulting taste remain unchanged. Hooded SKUNK Rum, which is aged in oak barrels, rounds off the four products to date.
Hooded SKUNK Rum is made in Denmark from organic Paraguayan molasses. Fermentation takes 2.5 weeks, and after distillation the rum is aged for 3 months in virgin (first-filled) American white oak barrels. The barrels are heavily charred on the inside, so the colour of the rum is only a result of the ageing. The charred wood also releases substances that give the rum notes of caramel and vanilla.
Flavour profile:
When you open a bottle of Hooded SKUNK Rum, you are greeted by a cascade of aromas of brown sugar, tropical fruit, oak, coconut, marzipan with hints of campfire and leather. These same notes are also evident in the taste. The rum can be enjoyed neat, but also works well in a cocktail. A Mojito or Daiquiri, for example, will transform it into an exceptional taste experience.
