Hunter Laing Kill Devil Guyana 17 YO 1999 in a gift box is a rare single-cask rum from Guyana that will delight collectors and lovers of long-aged Caribbean spirits alike. It comes from the now-closed Uitvlugt distillery, where it was distilled in 1999 and stored in an oak cask. This cask was subsequently purchased by Hunter Laing and transported to its cellars in Scotland, where the rum continued to age undisturbed until 2016. The result is an exceptionally limited edition of just 385 bottles.
Characteristics:
The Kill Devil series from Hunter Laing features carefully selected rums from the Caribbean and other regions, which must meet the same strict quality criteria as the whiskies in the company’s portfolio. Rums in this series are bottled traditionally, without chill filtration and without added colorants, and often come from single casks. Each bottle also comes in a gift tube, which underscores its collectible nature.

About Hunter Laing:
Hunter Laing is an independent Scottish bottler and family-owned company with roots dating back to 1949, when Frederick Laing founded a whisky blending firm in Glasgow. His work was continued by Stewart Laing, who began building his reputation in the world of whisky in 1964 and gradually expanded the family brands and export markets.
A significant milestone was the launch of the Old Malt Cask series in 1998 and later the Old and Rare series, which have earned a strong reputation among connoisseurs worldwide. The company Hunter Laing & Co. Ltd itself was founded in 2013 and built upon the family’s long-standing experience in the maturation, selection, and bottling of whisky and other spirits.
In addition to independent bottling, the company made its mark by founding the Ardnahoe distillery on the island of Islay, which began distilling in 2018 and launched its first single malt in 2024.
