Product description

Benromach 21Y is an exceptional single malt whisky from the renowned Benromach distillery, matured for 21 years in first-fill sherry and bourbon casks, which give it the depth, smoothness and character that have earned it worldwide recognition, including double gold at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Characteristics:

Every drop of this whisky is crafted in the spirit of traditional craftsmanship – by hand, with the senses and an eye for detail. The distillers at Benromach use only the finest American and Spanish oak casks, which give the distillate complexity and create a combination of fruity sweetness, subtle spice and a hint of peat.

Tasting profile:

Color: Dark amber – no added coloring, natural shade after years of aging in wood.

Aroma: Sweet sherry aroma with notes of citrus, ginger, oak, and subtle smoke in the background.

Taste: Rich and layered – the initial sweetness gives way to notes of black pepper, Seville oranges and raspberries, followed by baked apple and subtle spices.

Finish: Long and elegant with an aftertaste of charred oak and subtle smoke.

Benromach 21Y is a whisky best enjoyed in peace, with friends or during special moments. It is the perfect gift for connoisseurs and collectors alike and rightly forms the pinnacle of the Benromach distillery's core range.

About the Benromach brand:

Benromach Distillery Company Ltd. is a family-owned distillery that believes in the power of simplicity and craftsmanship. It is located in the town of Forres, near Elgin in Speyside, the birthplace of Scotch single malt whisky. B

It was founded in 1898, but has been enjoying its golden age since 1993, when it was bought by the Urquhart family, famous tasters and visionaries from Gordon & MacPhail.

At Benromach, whisky is not produced according to industrial templates – here, people, time, and emotion play the leading role.

The distillery's goal was to revive the traditional, delicately peaty Speyside style, which originated historically when peat was used to dry malt during times of coal shortages. The reopening of the distillery in 1998 by Prince Charles was a symbolic step towards a new beginning, giving new life to the old style of whisky.
