Product description

Balvenie Rare Marriages 25Y is an exceptional single malt whisky from the Rare Marriages collection, which was created by carefully selecting the rarest casks from The Balvenie distillery, which were then blended into a perfectly balanced and complex whisky with a distinctive character and extraordinary depth.

Characteristics:

This edition was created by Kelsey McKechnie, successor to the legendary David C. Stewart MBE, who selected only a few casks of exceptional quality and character. The result is a composition of whiskies matured in selected American and European oak casks, whose combination creates the characteristic Balvenie style – elegant, smooth, yet rich and layered.

Tasting profile:

Color: Rich golden to amber.

Aroma: Rich and delicate, with notes of vanilla pod, ripe fruit, candied ginger, and a hint of woody spices.

Taste: Velvety smooth, sweet liquid honey, vanilla, delicate spices, light citrus zest and a creamy texture.

Finish: Long and elegant, with fruity notes, light woodiness and a spicy aftertaste.

Serving:

Balvenie Rare Marriages 25Y is best enjoyed neat, or with a few drops of water to release additional layers of flavor. An interesting alternative is to pair it with a delicate tea, creating a new flavor dialogue between two worlds of craftsmanship.

Balvenie Rare Marriages 25Y is ideal for collectors, discerning whisky lovers and as an exceptional gift.

About The Balvenie Distillery:

The Balvenie Distillery, located in Dufftown in Scotland's Speyside region, is one of the last truly traditional distilleries in the world. Its story begins in 1892, when entrepreneur and visionary William Grant recognized the potential of the dilapidated Balvenie Mains estate. He began building a distillery on the property, which he put into operation just one year later, laying the foundation for one of the most respected brands of Scotch single malt whisky.

Unlike most other distilleries, The Balvenie Distillery still produces its own malt, has its own malt drying kilns, its own cooperage, and maintains a team of copper boilermakers, which is truly exceptional in today's world.

For many years, the distillery was headed by David C. Stewart MBE, a legendary malt master who joined The Balvenie in 1962. He pioneered the technique of cask finishing – maturing whisky in different types of casks – and is responsible for many of The Balvenie's iconic editions, including the 12-year-old DoubleWood and the 21-year-old PortWood.
