Poněšický Aquavit is a unique spirit inspired by the traditional Scandinavian drink known as the "water of life". This Czech Aquavit is made with love and respect for the original recipe, but with a distinctive local approach that reflects the richness and diversity of regional ingredients.
Unique composition and taste:
The distillate is based on high quality alcohol, water and enriched with a unique combination of dill, lemon peel, juniper and rye bread from the small bakery "Chleba se solí" from the South Bohemian town of Včelné. It also contains coriander, cumin and a blend of herbs and spices that together create a fresh yet complex flavour profile.
Production and design:
Every aspect of the production of Poněšický Aquavit, from the selection of ingredients to the final processing, is carefully controlled to ensure the highest quality. The label of the drink is the work of Tereza Burianová, a member of the artistic duo Burani, who is known for her collaboration with the café Mezi Plátky in České Budějovice.

The Poněšice distillery, located in a picturesque South Bohemian village near Hluboká nad Vltavou, is a proud representative of a family tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. The Ledajaks family has been producing spirits here with love and passion for three generations, which includes the founder, his daughter and now his grandson.
Founded in 2002 as the fulfillment of a family dream, the Poněšice Distillery has become a symbol of quality and craftsmanship. In 2020, the distillery underwent a technological upgrade, installing an all-water distillation column with automated controls from a Czech manufacturer. This innovation allows precise control over the distillation process, ensuring high quality of the final products without unwanted complications.
