Royal Salute 25Y VIP Cask PX Hogshead Finish is an exceptional limited edition ultra-premium Scotch whisky that showcases the mastery of the Royal Salute brand at its best. The Czech Republic has managed to acquire one of only 21 private casks that have been released for the first time in the brand's history under the leadership of Master Blender Sandy Hyslop. The result is a limited edition of only 336 bottles, intended for discerning whisky lovers and collectors.
Characteristics:
This 25-year-old blended malt whisky is made from malt whiskies from 21 distilleries across all five whisky regions of Scotland – Speyside, Highlands, Lowlands, Campbeltown, and Islay. The base is formed by the traditional distilleries of Strathisla and Longmorn, which define the Royal Salute style, complemented by a more significant proportion of Allt-A-Bhainne and Glen Keith distilleries. The final character is then completed by three years of maturation in first-fill Hogshead casks previously used for Pedro Ximénez sherry, which gives the whisky richer, darker and more pronounced sherry tones.
Bottle design:
Each bottle is stored in a distinctive deep blue flask and an individually numbered gift box. The whisky has been left at 50.9% cask strength, non-chill filtered, and its color comes exclusively from the wood of the cask.
Tasting profile:
Color: Natural, from the wood of the cask.
Aroma: Homemade currant jam, plums with cinnamon, delicate nuts.
Taste: Dark chocolate, red apples, dark berries, the sweetness of golden syrup.
Finish: Long, rich, elegantly spiced.
About the Royal Salute brand:
Royal Salute is a prestigious Scotch whisky brand that was founded to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. The brand name, derived from the traditional 21-gun salute, reflects the deep royal traditions and solemnity of the moment. This salute symbolizes the respect and favor that the brand expresses with its unique product.
Royal Salute whisky is produced at the Strathisla Distillery, the oldest continuously operating distillery in the Scottish Highlands. This historic setting gives Royal Salute whisky an authenticity and depth that can be felt in every sip.
As part of the Pernod Ricard group, Royal Salute maintains its status as a luxury symbol that is inextricably linked to royal milestones and significant celebrations. The brand is often referred to as the "king of whiskey" due to its unsurpassed quality and elegant presentation.
