Godet Antarctica is a crystal-clear French brandy inspired by the purity and untamed power of Antarctica. It was created as a tribute to the expedition of Jean-Jacques Godet, who, while sailing in Antarctic waters, was captivated by the icy landscape, its purity, and its freshness.
Production:
The distillate ages in very old oak barrels that no longer impart color or tannins. Thanks to this, it retains its crystal-clear appearance, delicate texture, and uniquely fresh character. It is a blend consisting of 99% cognac distillate and 1% brandy.
Tasting Profile:
Color: Crystal-clear and colorless.
Nose: Aromatic and complex. Caramel comes to the fore initially, followed by chamomile, fresh apricots, oak, and a subtle coniferous note.
Taste: Distinctive and spicy, with dominant white pepper softened by notes of vanilla, dried fruit, and caramel.
Finish: Long and fresh, with a return of apricots and a subtly mineral, spicy aftertaste.
Serving:
Godet Antarctica differs from traditional amber brandies not only in appearance but also in how it is served. It tastes best thoroughly chilled, or even straight from the freezer. The lower temperature highlights its purity, delicate sweetness, fruity notes, and fresh spiciness. It can be served on its own as an unconventional digestif or used in cocktails, to which it adds an elegant wine base without significantly affecting their color.
Origin of the distillates used: Bois Ordinaires, Bons Bois, Fins Bois, Borderies, Petite Champagne, and Grande Champagne
Godet Antarctica is an original choice for customers seeking an unconventional wine distillate with a crystal-clear appearance, fresh character, and a story inspired by an Antarctic expedition.
About Godet Frères Cognac:
Godet is a historic family-owned producer of cognac and brandy from the French port city of La Rochelle. The family’s roots date back to 1588, when Bonaventure Godet was involved in the trade of wine and early wine distillates. The Godet trading house itself was officially founded in 1782, when Gédéon-Louis Godet began shipping the first bottles bearing the family seal.
For centuries, the brand has been closely associated with the Atlantic Ocean, maritime routes, and family know-how. Today, the 15th generation of the Godet family continues this tradition. In addition to classic cognacs, the brand also creates more modern and experimental editions, including the crystal-clear Godet Antarctica.
