Product description

Longmorn 25Y Speyside Special Edition is an exceptional Scotch single malt whisky from the Speyside region, part of the prestigious Secret Speyside series. This collection showcases rare whiskies from lesser-known or hard-to-find distilleries in Speyside, allowing you to discover their unique character in an exceptionally matured form.

Production:

Longmorn 25Y whisky is aged in ASB – American Standard Barrel-type American oak casks, as well as in hogshead and butts casks. Thanks to its long maturation, it acquires a rich, elegant, and sweetly fruity profile with notes of cinnamon, red apple, mandarin, and light raisins. Although it has a drier character, its finish is long, smooth, and pleasantly delicate.

Tasting Profile:

Nose: Sweet, fruity, and spicy notes combined with long maturation in American oak.

Taste: Uniquely sweet, with hints of cinnamon, red apple, mandarin, and light raisins. The character is rather dry, yet very balanced and elegant.

Finish: Long, smooth, delicate, and elegant.

Longmorn 25Y Speyside Special Edition is a whisky for discerning connoisseurs who appreciate its advanced age, 52.8% ABV, complexity, and the typical elegance of the Speyside style. It is best enjoyed neat in a Glencairn or tasting glass. A few drops of water can unlock additional layers of fruity, spicy, and sweet oak notes.

About Longmorn Distillery:

Longmorn Distillery is a Scottish single malt whisky distillery located in Speyside, one of Scotland’s most significant whisky regions. Situated in the Moray area near Elgin, it has long been among the distilleries prized by connoisseurs for its rich, sweetly fruity, and elegant style of whisky.

The distillery was founded by John Duff together with his partners George Thomson and Charles Shirres. Production began in 1894, and Longmorn quickly earned a very good reputation among whisky merchants. The official Chivas Brothers archive notes that the press of the time was already writing about Longmorn as early as 1897 as a whisky that had rapidly won over buyers.

The name Longmorn is often associated with the Gaelic term Lhanmorgund, meaning “place of the holy man,” as the distillery is said to have been built on the site of an old chapel. This historical detail adds a distinctive story to the brand and fits the image of a traditional Scottish distillery with deep roots in Speyside.

Today, Longmorn is part of the portfolio of Chivas Brothers, which belongs to the Pernod Ricard group. The distillery thus remains connected to the world of premium Scotch whisky, and its spirit is used for both single malt releases and select blends.
