Unlike plums, gingersnaps are green or yellow-red and have a sweeter taste. The fresh, fruity aroma of the gutter matches the full, juicy, sweet flavour, which is complemented by a play of subtle honey notes. Compared to the more sour plum brandy, ginger beer has the sweetness so typical of yellow fruits (pins, blums). The distillate from the gutter is a rare treat. There are far fewer plums than plums.
A smaller, greener, sweeter and less common type of plum than the plum. A rare and beautifully aromatic spirit.
