Žufánek Plum Spirit is a traditional Czech fruit spirit that will enchant you with its distinctive taste and aroma. This Plum Spirit is produced with love and care in the heart of the White Carpathians protected landscape area, from fruit grown in accordance with the principles of organic farming.
Žufánek Plum Spirit is made from eight plum varieties, including early Čačanské and late varieties such as Stanley and Anna Späth.
Each variety is fermented and distilled separately, then the individual spirits are blended into a unique cuvée.
The blend is aged for 8 to 12 months in stainless steel tanks, guaranteeing a unique flavour second to none.
The ideal temperature for serving this plum brandy is between 10 and 18 °C. At lower temperatures, a slight cloudiness may occur due to the precipitation of aromatic oils, which is a natural phenomenon and does not imply a reduction in quality.
Do not refrigerate or freeze to preserve the fullness of the aromatic oils, which are key to the authentic flavour of the plum brandy.
Žufánek Plum Spirit is not only a great accompaniment for special occasions, but also an excellent gift for lovers of traditional spirits. Its robust character and depth of flavour make it ideal for those who appreciate the true taste and aroma of Plum Spirit made in the traditional way.
About the Žufánek distillery:
The family-owned distillery ŽUFÁNEK s.r.o. was founded in 2000 by Marcela and Josef Žufánek together with their sons Martin, Josef, and Jan. It is located in Boršice u Blatnice near Uherské Hradiště, at the foot of the Bílé Karpaty protected landscape area – a region with an ideal microclimate for growing fruit.
The basis of production is the distillery's own 15-hectare orchard, which is run according to organic farming principles. Eight varieties of plums (such as Čačanská, Stanley, and Anna Späth), Williams pears, greengages, and Oblačinská sour cherries are grown here. The orchards are also gradually being expanded to include aromatic and medicinal herbs, which are mainly used in the production of gins and absinthes.
The heart of the distillery is a modern distillery with four 300-liter distillation columns. In addition to traditional boilers from Destila Brno, the distillery also uses state-of-the-art technology from the German brand Arnold Holstein, which allows for maximum preservation of the aromatic substances and character of the distilled fruit.
