Svach's Old Well Whisky Silver Rose 53,5% 0,5 l Limited Edition

Svach's Old Well Whisky Silver Rose is the third release in the Lords of the Rose collector’s series from the Old Well Distillery in Svachovka. This limited edition consists of just 472 bottles and features an unusual yet highly successful blend of smoky whisky and sweet Moravian Riesling.

The whisky was first aged in a bourbon cask, followed by a two-year finish in a cask from the Sonberk winery, in which a 2014 vintage selection of Riesling made from raisined grapes had previously aged for five years. This cask imparted a delicate sweetness and a fruity dimension that beautifully contrasts with the peaty, smoky character of the spirit. The barley used in production was dried over smoldering peat, so the whisky’s base carries a distinct smoky note.
